What We Do

Outpatient Addiction Treatment Center: New Jersey

It is essential that treatment is made accessible so that more people can get help when they need it. That is what we strive to do at our fully outpatient addiction treatment center in New Jersey. While it is not the right fit for everyone at every stage in recovery, there are many advantages to outpatient care for the right person. In addition to the fact that outpatient addiction treatment programs are often more affordable than inpatient treatment, those who opt for outpatient may do so for various reasons. So, what are the benefits, and who is it for?

Benefits of outpatient substance abuse treatment include but aren’t limited to the following:

  • Increased flexibility, trust, and freedom compared to inpatient treatment.
  • Real-time assistance in working through challenges that arise in daily life throughout recovery.
  • Opportunities to build new skills, create a support team, and make a long-term, sustainable self-care plan.

As for who it’s for, outpatient addiction treatment in New Jersey is often ideal for those who prefer to sleep and live at home while in addiction treatment, need to fulfill commitments like work, school, or caring for their family while in treatment, or do not need treatment as intensive as an inpatient program. It can also be used as a step-down form of care for those who have completed inpatient treatment elsewhere.

PREVAIL RECOVERY CENTER

Levels of Care

While we are a fully outpatient treatment center, we offer multiple levels of care or programs. One level of care may be more or less suitable for you at this point in your life and recovery journey, depending on several factors. You will find all of the following levels of care at Prevail Recovery Center. If you’re not sure which level of care is right for you at this time, our admissions staff can help you decide. No matter what level of care you’re in, you will get a personalized treatment plan.

Detoxification

Getting off of drugs and alcohol can come with uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms. In some cases, they may even be dangerous. Detoxification or “detox” programs are created to help clients get off of drugs and alcohol safely and successfully, with less discomfort. Prevail Recovery Center offers outpatient detox only, which is often most suitable for those who have less severe withdrawal symptoms.

In our outpatient detox program, you’ll work with medical and mental health staff throughout the week for a combination of treatments, such as therapy, monitoring, and medication management. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is available for clients who need or benefit from it.

If you’re on a substance that requires tapering, we can help you make a plan and move through the process. This is expected for substances that shouldn’t be discontinued abruptly, such as benzodiazepines. During the tapering process, you can enter another level of care, such as partial hospitalization.

Partial hospitalization

Partial hospitalization programs (PHP) are the most intensive kind of addiction treatment you can get without being in an inpatient treatment program. For many of our clients, PHP is an alternative to inpatient addiction treatment in New Jersey. This is because you will attend PHP all day, most days of the week. PHP clients at Prevail Recovery Center get a truly immersive treatment experience.

PHP entails a combination of multiple treatments that a client’s personalized treatment plan calls for.

These can include but aren’t limited to groups, family therapy, individual therapy sessions, and medication management. Those interested in this level of care should expect to take time off of work or school while in their program.

Intensive outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are one step down from PHP in intensity, with a much lower time commitment. However, they still provide well-rounded, comprehensive support. IOP clients at Prevail Recovery Center engage in a combination of group and individual therapy, much like clients in PHP. The difference is that the amount of therapy required for IOP means that you’ll be in treatment for fewer hours per week.

Intensive outpatient care can be ideal for those who need a comprehensive addiction treatment team but cannot commit to PHP. For example, those who work, go to school, or care for their family during treatment. It can also be used as a step-down form of care.

Outpatient

Other types of outpatient addiction treatment at Prevail Recovery Center require a very low time commitment and are almost always step-down forms of care. Many clients enter outpatient after finishing a higher level of care to continue therapy and other treatments offered at Prevail Recovery Center, have regular check-ins with staff, and get support from the community they’ve built throughout treatment.

What We Do

What Sets Our Addiction Treatment Facilities in New Jersey Apart?

Not all addiction treatment centers are created equally. When you’re looking for addiction treatment in New Jersey for yourself or a loved one, you want to ensure that you find the best match. On top of our personalized treatment plans, levels of care, and expert staff members, here are some of the many features that set us apart from competitors.

Sober living

We own sober living, also called supportive housing, facilities near our outpatient addiction treatment facilities in New Jersey. Sober living is much like an apartment with a standard rental agreement in the sense that it provides a sense of autonomy and independence, but it also becomes a community because every resident is sober.

Some clients who get addiction treatment in New Jersey may live out of town or out of state, so it is not uncommon for clients to reside in sober living facilities for the duration of their program(s) at Prevail Recovery Centers at least.

However, you don’t need to be in a treatment program to reside in sober living. Many people live in or continue living in supportive housing post-treatment to aid continued sobriety.

Dual diagnosis care

The term “dual diagnosis” indicates the presence of a substance use disorder and one or more additional mental health conditions. For example, a person with a substance use disorder may also have depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or a trauma-related disorder.

We have dual diagnosis treatment for clients who live with a substance use disorder and one or more additional mental health conditions. Often, this encourages prolonged recovery because it tends to a client’s full spectrum of mental health needs.

Evidence-based treatments

We use an extensive range of evidence-based treatments and supplementary activities, including multiple therapeutic modalities. If you’re interested in a specific treatment, kind of therapy, or activity and aren’t sure whether we offer it, please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.
