Although all of our programs are outpatient, the time commitment each program requires, and the level of support they offer, varies extensively. Here are the programs we offer for those overcoming substance abuse and what they entail. Detoxification

Detoxification programs are short-term. Many people attend them before entering another level of care. The purpose of a detoxification or detox program is to get help getting sober. We offer outpatient detoxification programs for clients who experience less severe withdrawal symptoms and do not require inpatient detox. In our outpatient detox programs, you’ll work closely with medical and mental health staff for therapy and, if applicable, medication management. 

If you are someone who requires tapering, we can guide you through the process properly. This is common and often necessary for those who use substances such as benzodiazepines that can have dangerous withdrawal symptoms.

Partial Hospitalization 

Partial hospitalization programs (PHP) are the highest level of care you can get without being in an inpatient program. On a typical day in PHP, you will spend most of the day at your treatment facility but return home at night to sleep. Since clients attend PHP for the majority of the week, the time commitment is much like that of a full-time job. Our partial hospitalization programs include a combination of multiple therapies and treatments, including but not limited to regular groups and individual therapy sessions. 

Intensive Outpatient 

Intensive outpatient programs, or IOP, are less intensive and time-consuming than PHP, but they still offer a good deal of support. Our IOP clients engage in a combination of group and individual therapy, just like those in PHP. The difference is that the amount of therapy required for IOP means that you’ll be in treatment for fewer hours per week. IOP can be ideal for those who need a comprehensive addiction treatment team but cannot commit to PHP. For example, those who work, go to school, or care for their family during treatment. 

Outpatient

Other outpatient options are normally a step-down form of care. This is because they require a less extensive time commitment than PHP or IOP. Many clients choose to enter outpatient after PHP or IOP so they can continue therapy and other treatments offered at Prevail Recovery Center, have regular check-ins with staff, and get support from their community as they live or transition back into their daily lives.
