Long-Term Health Risks of Opioid Abuse

Opioid abuse comes with an array of serious risks. These risks may occur with or without warning at any point in time. Some of them are irreversible. No one is immune to the effects of opioid abuse, and it is critical to get help now, even if you feel as though things are under control. The long-term health risks associated with opioid abuse include but aren’t limited to the following.

  • Financial problems, including loss of employment due to opioid use
  • Long-term cognitive effects, such as memory loss

PREVAIL RECOVERY CENTER

Outpatient New Jersey Opioid Treatment

Prevail Recovery Center is an outpatient-only treatment facility, making us an ideal fit for anyone looking for opioid addiction treatment in New Jersey who wants the benefits of outpatient care. Many people are drawn toward outpatient care because of the flexibility it provides. We offer the following levels of outpatient care. If you’re not sure which level of care is right for you, our staff can help you decide during the admissions process.

Detoxification

Detoxification or “detox” is designed to help people get off of drugs and alcohol safely. Since it can be challenging to stop using opioids for many different reasons, detox can be highly beneficial as a first step in treatment. Many people with opioid addiction find that outpatient detox works well for them. Our outpatient detox programs help clients get sober while living off-site. We provide therapy and medication-assisted treatment (MAT). However, if you require inpatient detox, we can give you a referral to a treatment center that offers inpatient care.

Partial hospitalization

Partial hospitalization programs (PHP) are the highest level of care you can get for opioid addiction without being in an inpatient program. On a typical day in PHP, you will spend the majority of your days at your treatment center but will return home at night to sleep. The time commitment required in PHP is much like that of a full-time job. Our partial hospitalization programs include a combination of multiple treatments and activities, including but not limited to regular groups, individual therapy sessions, family therapy options, recreation, and more.

Intensive outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are less intensive and time-consuming than PHP. Our IOP clients engage in a combination of group and individual therapy, just like those in PHP. The difference is that the amount of therapy required for IOP means that you’ll be in treatment for fewer hours per week. IOP can be ideal for those who need a comprehensive addiction treatment team but cannot pursue PHP due to outside commitments. For example, those who need to work, attend school, or care for their family during treatment. In some cases, it’s also a step-down form of care.

Outpatient

Our other outpatient options require a very low time commitment and are frequently utilized by those who have completed PHP or IOP with us. Many clients choose to enter continued outpatient care after PHP or IOP so they can keep accessing therapy and other treatments offered at Prevail Recovery Center, have regular check-ins with staff, and get support from their community as they live or transition back into their daily lives.

What We Do

Reasons to Choose Prevail Recovery Center

If you’re looking for opioid addiction treatment in New Jersey, you may have compared several addiction treatment centers already. Alongside our expert team of addiction treatment professionals and program options, here are some of the reasons clients choose us for their substance abuse treatment needs.

Whole-person healing

Part of overcoming substance abuse is about creating a more sustainable life for yourself and developing the tools needed to address hurdles and challenges along the way. We help each client identify and meet their unique needs for treatment so that they can develop the skills needed to move through their lives.

Sober living

We have sober living facilities available for those in the area who are looking for a drug and alcohol-free place to live. Sober living is just like living in an apartment with a standard rental agreement in the sense that you’ll have independence and autonomy. It also provides a sense of community since the other residents are all sober individuals.

Dual diagnosis care

Dual diagnosis care refers to treatment that addresses both substance abuse and at least one other mental health condition. If you have another mental health condition, such as depression, anxiety, or post-traumatic stress disorder, that co-occurs with opioid addiction, our dual diagnosis care can help you navigate and manage it.

Evidence-based treatments

Our treatment programs use a diverse range of research-backed therapies, treatments, and recreational or supplementary activities to provide clients with comprehensive substance abuse and mental health care. If you want to know whether we offer a specific type of therapy or treatment, please give us a call.
