Providence health insurance rehab coverage varies based on the plan you have. However, in almost all cases, you can find some degree of rehab covered by Providence health. There are restrictions on things like:

1. What steps you have to follow before they will offer outpatient treatment covered by Providence health and
2. How long they cover rehab

Before signing up with a rehab center, it is always best to verify the policy terms and the limits associated with your Providence Health Plan. If you don’t know how to do that, it’s pretty easy. You can start by calling the number on the back of your insurance card and asking them what it covers. And you can also look at the summary benefits page you are given when you renew your policy which is usually available on your online platform as well. You can also call rehab centers and ask them to better explain your policy coverage and whether you can get things like outpatient treatment covered by Providence health. 

Detox

Providence offers an area called Behavioral Health Services. The coverage provided under this umbrella extends to things like detox. If you are struggling with prediction, the most important part of your journey, once you agree to get help, is to undergo detoxification.

Providence requires that you get prior authorization before you show up at a Florida detox center. Drug detox is considered an inpatient service because you stay there overnight, so your plan will typically apply any inpatient fees to your next bill.

Providence will only approve coverage for detox if it is deemed medically necessary. This means they only provide coverage if there is a significant risk to your health should you detox alone. Things like alcoholism or opioids bring high risk to your personal health, so they are likely to be covered, but, again, this is contingent on the type of plan you have.

Inpatient

Inpatient rehab requires that you stay at the facility for up to 90 days. You get 24-hour supervision. Providence Health Plan covers inpatient drug rehab, but how long they provide coverage is based on the plan you have.

Providence does not offer 100% coverage for inpatient services, so it won’t be free, but your insurance plan can certainly make it much more affordable.

Note: Before your insurance covers your Inpatient Rehab, you must meet your deductible. The deductible is how much you have to pay every year out of pocket for any healthcare services before your insurance policy picks up the rest of the bill. Additionally, you might still have to pay coinsurance which means you pay a percentage and your healthcare provider pays for the rest.
